Our guided hunts take place in our endless fields and over small bodies of water throughout the south central region of North Dakota. Our mornings typically start between 5-6 a.m. with hot coffee and continental breakfast. The morning hunts for
waterfowl usually last until mid-morning, then it’s back to the lodge for a delicious, prepared lunch. The afternoons and evenings can be spent hunting ducks and geese on one of our surrounding property ponds, self scouting for pheasants, practicing at our trap range, or just relaxing while our guides scout for the next morning’s hunt.
Deer season gets everyone excited and the deer hunting in our area is some of the most exciting Whitetail hunting you'll ever find! Most of our action packed Whitetail hunts are spot and stalk. Hunting is done by walking into their environment, sitting atop high hills and glassing. This open country is very deceiving, as mature bucks can be hiding right before your eyes in tall weeds, cattails, or just behind an unknown hill. There are always deer moving around you, so you’ll have to stay sharp. There are a very limited number of outfitter rifle tags available per year, so you’ll want to book these hunts early. However, bow tags are available over the counter.

Welcome to Stone Prairie Outfitters. We are dedicated to making your hunt a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Hunting in North Dakota is unlike any other place in the world. With thousands of potholes, the ducks and geese always keep you on your toes. Our hunters can typically expect to shoot Canadians, Mallards, Scaup, Red Heads, Canvasbacks, Wigeons, Pintails, Gadwalls, and Teal. In the field or in potholes, we will scout the night before and find the best option for your hunt.
Owner Chad "Stone" Pfeifer has been a professional guide for over 11 years in this area and is dedicated to putting you on great hunts as well as his expert guides. Chad is also a pro-staffer for Avery/GHG/Banded. Jon Schulz is our lead White-tailed deer hunting guide and is determined to do what it takes to get you a quality deer.
Our lodge has been featured on "The Ultimate Hunt" TV show and numerous magazines. We hold a high bar for ourselves and strive to always keep it that way. Our goal is to not just have you come here for one year, but many years to come. We cherish the relationships we have built with clients over the years.
We have gone from having 18 clients the first year of Chad taking over in 2016 to nearly 200 in 2022 and we continue to add to that every year. We can make your hunts highly customizable depending on species, physical ability, and water or field preference. Our number one goal is to provide the best hunting trip of your life.
